10 things I’ve learned as a Life Coach

Debbie Laino 10 Things I've Learned As A Life Coach

8 years of Health Coaching and 4 years of MAP Coaching

  1. Most clients have heard of mind/body connection, but not many understand it and how a mismatch between them can affect their health and wellbeing.
  2. Trauma significantly affects a persons state of mental and physical well-being.
  3. Trauma is not the event itself, but how the event made you feel on the inside.
  4. Trauma leaves behind a multitude of negative beliefs, fears and doubts about yourself, and the world around you.
  5. The subconscious mind drives 95% of all behavior, which is why conscious willpower usually fails.
  6. The subconscious mind is way more powerful than any strategy, logic, plan or willpower – which is why MAP is ideal for yo yo dieters, because we crack open root beliefs and transform them permanently.
  7. Happiness is an inside job, and every client is equipped with the ability to successfully manifest their dreams and goals.
  8. Guiding clients through the process of managing uncomfortable emotions, runaway negative thoughts, and beliefs has been crucial to their success and being able to maintain overall mental and physical well-being.
  9. Clients who have the highest rates of success are the ones that show up regularly, aren’t resistant to the internal work and take their journey seriously.  These are the clients that will change their world.
  10. Resistance is one of the strongest barriers to success that I’ve seen as a coach, and it can be a significant block to a clients growth and change.  Resistance can arise from fear, doubt, denial or discomfort with confronting difficult emotions or challenging beliefs.  However, once a client is willing to explore the roots of their resistance, breakthrough moments occur that opens the door to transformative change.
